The paid decision

A list of factories is not the product.

The paid outcome is a defensible supplier decision: who actually manufactures the product, what each quote includes, which risks remain and which route the buyer should own.

Use this when

  1. 01

You have a defined product, reference or current supplier to replace.

  2. 02

Alibaba responses and quotations cannot be compared on the same basis.

  3. 03

You need China-side ownership across outreach, samples and negotiation.

Source workflow

Three phases. One accountable handover.

01

Define and screen

Lock the product, market, volume and decision criteria, then build and contact a target pool of up to 10–15 candidate manufacturers. If the market is narrower, document that finding.

02

Qualify and compare

Target 3–5 credible factories where market depth supports it, check the manufacturing route and compare original quotes and one sample round on the same basis.

03

Decide and hand over

Negotiate the viable route and deliver factory identities, original quotes, risks and a written supplier recommendation.

Buyer-owned outputs

The work ends with usable assets, not a verbal update.

01Bilingual supplier-ready sourcing brief

02Target qualified shortlist of 3–5 factories where available

Scope and extensions

Separately scoped

  • Onsite factory visit or buyer representation
  • Additional sample-development round
  • Laboratory, engineering or regulatory coordination
  • Sample consolidation and international dispatch
Operating boundary

The sprint requires a usable product brief, target market, expected volume and decision date. Samples, courier, tooling, testing, travel and onsite work are separately approved and prepaid. If market depth cannot support a viable shortlist or comparable quotes, the deliverable becomes a documented stop or route-change decision.
